I think after pool play is done and elimination gamea start all protests on a umpires call from a coach then the timer should be stopped during the protest. We as parents want our kids to know its not all about winning or losing but when a coach protests a umpires call and the timer is running and runs out because of that then thats not fair to the kids. My rant and opinion.

Dear proudsoftballdad, If it was a judgement call by the umpire then it is not protestable. Any protests of a rule is noted in the scorebook and the game continues from that point with no delay. Protests cost the coach money.

It was actually a coach that argued a defensive interference. It ended up wasting nearly 10 minutes of the game and game ended on time limit 2-1 score.

No such thing as defensive interference. If the defensive player is at fault, then it’s obstruction.
